I'm going to give you fair warning. I'm going to do something fairly unconventional for a coffee shop blog. I'm going to talk about a coffee shop, but the main story isn't going to be about coffee. We're going to talk about plants.
But really, I'm just like -- how can I talk about Flora without talking about the plants? Because friends, I've got to be honest with you. I didn't walk in Flora (or Forage) for coffee. I was already about three cups of coffee into the morning.
My husband and I were just strolling through West Asheville and saw the beautiful indoor plant store and HAD to step inside. I was all at once excited and yet regretful; so excited because I wanted to buy everything in the store and regretful because I wanted to buy everything in the store. You know, that feeling you get when you go to the home decor section at Target? Like you just want it ALL? Amplify that by about ten.
After picking up things and putting them down, Andrew and I settled on four air plants and a couple geometric hangers. We really wanted a baby turtle shell that was a unique holder for an air plant, but our self control caught better hold of us.
Okay, NOW we can talk about the adorable coffee shop inside the shop called Forage. Perfect name, right? The menu was simple -- espresso based drinks, black coffee and a tea selection. I'm going to admit in full truth that I didn't even pay attention to what coffee they brewed. I got a chai latte and didn't look back. It wasn't the hands down best chai I've ever had, but it was good!
The coffee shop has no big frills. But it was such a neat unexpected find that I had to share. I get the feeling that there are many coffee people that are also plant people. Where my plant ladies at? The shop does photo shoots often and tons of wedding for folks going after that natural botanical feel at places like a wedding.
